The creator of the transporter, thought lost to his own invention, returns after being stuck in limbo for three centuries. Four years before Star Trek: Enterprise established Emory Erickson as the transporter’s inventor in the episode “Daedalus,” WildStorm Comics had offered an alternate account in Star Trek: The Next Generation—Forgiveness, by David Brin and Scott Hampton.

Collected along with that painted graphic novel is WildStorm’s Star Trek Special, a one-shot presenting short stories by six creative teams, featuring the intrepid crews of James T. Kirk, Jean-Luc Picard, Benjamin Sisko, and Katherine Janeway.
