The U.S.S. Horizon NCC-176 is a 22nd-century Daedalus Class was one of the first Starfleet ships to explore deep space after the inception of the Federation. It visited the planet Sigma Iotia II in 2168. Every possible detail has been scaled down and painstakingly reproduced for this model, from individual windows to docking ports to phaser strips to running lights.

The 20-page magazine explains how the Horizon was based on an early U.S.S. Enterprise design by Matt Jefferies, plus it takes a look at the early history of space exploration in Star Trek and the early stages of the Federation.
