My wife has long read webtoons content and it was surprising to me that it’s taken Paramount this long to get Trek going over there. The first series that J.R. Waugh mentions in his article is a “Boys’ Love” series that will make for an interesting time for those in the “this isn’t real Trek” circles that have been hate blogging or making excessive video blogs about how a trans Trill destroys Trek and everything it stood for.
I for one will be excited to explore how exactly they’re going to roll out the Webtoons versions of Star Trek. I know that a few Webtoons were later printed to actual paper, so if that happens who’s going to get to publish it, IDW, Titan, or a new entrant to the messy arena of publishing?
