<p>A young Spock accompanied his father, the Vulcan diplomat Sarek, to the planet Marath to help negotiate a peace treaty. With the signed treaty safely in hand, they board the <em>Starship Enterprise</em><span>TM</span> and head home. Spock is fascinated by the easy acceptance of his Vulcan culture by the bright, adventurous Starfleet crew headed by Captain Robert April and his first officer, Christopher Pike. Spock, half-Vulcan, half-human, is now torn between accepting his position at the Vulcan Science Academy or joining the cadets at Starfleet Academy<span>®</span>.</p>
<p>Before he can decide, however, he and Sarek discover that not everyone is happy with the treaty. First, rebel forces attempt an assault on the <em>Enterprise</em>, and then Spock&#8217;s own family is stalked. Spock has a hunch about who is behind the attackes. But to find out &#8212; and set the course for his own destiny &#8212; he&#8217;ll have to trust his human side.</p>

<p>Leonard McCoy was a medical student at Starfleet Academy<span>®</span> looking forward to the winter break. He was just trying to have some fun when a football game on Academy grounds got out of hand, and all thanks to that upstart cadet named Kirk. Now McCoy is stuck at the Academy during the break. If only Kirk hadn&#8217;t gotten him into trouble. . . .</p>
<p>But it&#8217;s too late for regrets. McCoy has been &#8220;volunteered&#8221; for the Disaster Relief Service Club. Now he and a humorless Vulcan named Spock are risking their lives to save earthquake victims on the planet Playamar. Constant aftershocks are hampering their efforts, though, and Spock and McCoy begin to wonder: Is this a natural disaster, or are more sinister forces at work?</p>

<p>James T. Kirk was a &#8220;by-the-book&#8221; Starfleet Academy<span>®</span> cadet. Until he had to throw the book away!</p>
<p>It was a simple shuttle trip &#8212; just a quick hop to a nearby planet where renowned computer genius Richard Daystrom will give a lecture. But then a tractor beam forces the shuttle to land at a remote Federation outpost. Medical Intern McCoy, Ensign Spock and Cadet Kirk have been kidnapped by space pirates! They&#8217;re outnumbered and outgunned. McCoy and Spock simply want to escape and alert the authorities. But Professor Daystrom is the real target, and his shuttle will be entering this region of space soon. For Daystrom&#8217;s sake, The fiery young Kirk is determined to destroy the pirates&#8217; outpost &#8212; even if he has to do it alone.</p>

<p>Cadet David Forester has made it to Starfleet Academy&#8217;s Command School, where the starship captains of the future are trained on mission simulators that make you feel as if you are really on the bridge of a Federation starship. But there&#8217;s trouble at the Academy &#8212; sabotage, conflict, and a series of &#8220;accidents&#8221; throw Forester&#8217;s team of cadets into a scramble for their very lives.</p>
<p>Determined to save his crew, Forester rushes to stop a plot to destroy the Academy itself, and is thrust into a mission with Starfleet legends Captain James T. Kirk, Captain Hikaru Sulu, and Commander Pavel Chekov. Together they must find the cause behind a series of ever deadlier raids on Federation outposts by an unknown enemy.</p>
